  • Focus group participant recruitment.
  • Co-creation of a coding framework and thematic coding of large focus group transcripts and an adjoining written report of findings.
  • Reporting to a varied team of researchers.

Low-emissions, High Tensions: Social Media Groups and the Escalation of Climate Obstruction – Research Assistant for Dr Lluis de Nadal, University of Glasgow

  • Co-creation of coding framework for content analysis of digital data using NVivo,
  • Conducted thematic coding of a large amount of multi-modal digital data
  • Findings will inform strategies to counter misinformation and support outreach efforts with targeted, values-based and culturally sensitive communication.

Queer Digital Lives: Intersections of surveillance, datafication, and community resilience in the Glasgow LGBTQ+ community- Research Associate with Dr Elisabetta Ferrari

  • Participatory Action Research focused on exploring how queerness intersects with systems of power, datafication, and surveillance.
  • Recruitment and facilitation of focus groups utilising Visual Focus Group elicitation and reflexivity activities.
  • Intended outputs are both academic (AoIR conference presentations and journal articles) and accessible (zine incorporating strategies and knowledge from participants on digital privacy).

Re-Weirding the Archive: How digital folklorists use archives to build new narratives of cultural heritage, University of Glasgow

  • Digital ethnography of an online community. Data yielded from interviews with community curators and thematic analysis of digital materials.
  • Use of Microsoft Excel and NVivo for data analysis.
  • Outputs include a written report of findings for partial fulfillment of my MSc, conference presentations, and a written zine stocked in multiple libraries.

  • Processing, codifying, and transcribing sets of archival audio interviews.
  • Use of ELAN linguistic software, fluency in International Phonetic Alphabet.
